Ebb Tide
20th Century, American

Watercolor on paper, sight size 13 3/4 x 11 1/2 inches, c. 1960s, signed in the lower right corner, in the original silver metal frame with the artist's stamp on the back. Wotiz graduated from Brown University and became known for her oils and watercolors of the New England landscape and shoreline. She was a member of the North Shore Arts Association, the Concord Art Association and the Western Maine Art Group. (M)

The Look-out, Sunrise

A beautiful image by the marine artist, Arthur Brisco, created in 1925. Signed and numbered in ink on Strasbourg Lily watermarked paper in an edition on 75, cat: Hurst 122.7, framed. Briscoe was one of the finest marine artists' of the 20th. century. He studied at the Slade Art School and the Academy Julian in Paris and then spent the rest of his time sailing. He owned his own three ton cutter which he used to sail around the Essex coast. Also crewing on a Polish ship, he sketched every aspect of life on the boat.

Summer Meadow
1872- c.1950, American

"Summer Meadow" by Dexter Dawes measures 12 x 9 inches. Dawes summered in Marlboro, NH surrounded by beautiful gardens with views of Mount Monadnock which became the inspiration for many of his lithographs, drawings and paintings. He belonged to a number of associations including the National Arts Club.
