End of the Day, Bride, Isle of Man
1916-2004, British

Watercolor, sight size 5 x 7 inches, 1977, signed "Lauder" l.r., identified on labels from Ruskin Gallery, Stratford-on-Avon, England, affixed to their backings. Lauder painted in the minimalist style of watercolor stating that "the scale of the work is appropriate to the medium of water color, for within this compass extreme subtleties can be made. What was anticipated in a painting was the "unseen", the "unexpected"."

Windy Day Near Santa Cruz

This is a rare original etching by Edith Loring Getchell Pierce after a painting by California artist William Keith. The image size is 9 x 12 3/4 inches, published in 1886, pencil signed. A very rich impression with beautiful plate tone on medium weight laid type paper. Edith Loring Getchell Pierce was one of the leading women etchers of the of the American Etching Revival. She studied etching with Stephen Parrish and Peter Moran, and was greatly influenced by the American Tonalist and Barbizon painters.

A very fine sketch of a stand of maples by the artist, Dexter Dawes. Summering in Marlboro, NH, he is known for his lithographs, drawings and paintings of Mt. Monadnock and surrounding views. This image measures 11 x 7 5/8 inches and is done on a lightweight paper.
