Ebb Tide
20th Century, American

Watercolor on paper, sight size 13 3/4 x 11 1/2 inches, c. 1960s, signed in the lower right corner, in the original silver metal frame with the artist's stamp on the back. Wotiz graduated from Brown University and became known for her oils and watercolors of the New England landscape and shoreline. She was a member of the North Shore Arts Association, the Concord Art Association and the Western Maine Art Group. (M)

A fine woodblock in colors with mica accents by Paul Jacoulet, this image measures 11 3/4 x 15 1/2 inches, published in 1948 in an edition of 250, although fewer than 240 impressions were printed. This print is pencil signed with the "Ivy" seal, cat: Miles-96, carved by Maeda, printed by Fujii and Ogawa. Miles describes this image as having a "rich and delicate surface" with "one of the finest of Jacoulet's mica backgrounds." The flowers on the young woman's blouse are also printed with a delicate silver metallic ink.

This fine pencil drawing of a giant pine tree with its wooded surroundings, by local Marlboro, NH artist, Dexter Dawes measures 15 x 11 inches and is sketched on a medium weight, gray paper. Dawes summered in southern NH, with its' majestic views of Mt. Monadnock where many of his inspirations for his drawings, paintings and lithographs came from.
