This is a richly colored original painting by American artist Charles W. Stetson. Charles Stetson was a self taught artist and founding member of the Providence Art Club. He was known as a 'colorist' for his richly hued landscapes and figure studies, many of which have a dreamlike, allegorical quality. Memorial exhibits of his work were shown at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Detroit Museum of Art, and the Metropolitan Museum, New York.

The image size is 12 1/8 x 16 inches, 1916, pencil signed; a richly inked impression on a fine cream colored Japan paper. Unwin studied at the Winchester School of Art and the Slade School; he traveled extensively throughout Europe and spent several months in Egypt drawing the tomb interiors for an archaeological expedition. He then settled in London, becoming known for his landscapes and remarkable interior architectural views, such as this finely detailed image of the Albert Hall.
