Summer Light
1872- c.1950, American

This watercolor of two crab apple trees by Dexter Dawes measures 12 x 16 inches and is pencil signed and dated 1948. Dawes was born in Englewood, NJ and went on to study at New York City's Art Student League. He summered in Marlboro, NH surrounded by beautiful gardens with views of Mount Monadnock which became the inspiration for many of his lithographs and paintings. He belonged to a number of associations including the National Arts Club.

Vermont Splendor

This Vermont landscape by the American artist Luigi Lucioni measures 6 1/4 x 10 7/8 inches, pencil signed, 1944, edition of 250. Lucioni was known for his remarkably detailed etchings of the New England landscape that he could bring to life and gained worldwide attention as one of the great Regionalist artists.
