Oil on canvas, 17 x 21 inches, possibly a view of Monadnock, dated 1910, signed lower left.
Hammond studied under Charles H. Woodbury and was a member of the Rockport Art Association among others.

This landscape by Dexter Dawes measures 15 x 20 7/8 inches, is signed and dated, 1937. There are some indications that it was painted on a rainy day. Dawes was born in Englewood, NJ and went on to study at New York City's Art Student League. He summered in Marlboro, NH surrounded by beautiful gardens with views of Mount Monadnock which became the inspiration for many of his lithographs and paintings. He belonged to a number of associations including the National Arts Club.
