Cabin by the Fjord

This is an incredibly detailed, atmospheric Norwegian landscape of a small cabin at the edge of a fjord, the distant hills fading into a soft morning mist. It is painted in oil on panel, 11 x 16 inches, 1871, clearly signed "A Rasmussen 71" in the lower right corner, in an ornate period gilt frame.


Sugar Boats Off Greenwich
1851-1931, British

This lovely atmospheric image by William Wyllie measures 4 7/8 x 12 7/8 inches, pencil signed on the l.l. and created c. 1920. This is a view of Greenich from the Isle of Dogs with a view of the Royal Navel Academy on the left with the domes of the Royal Observatory high in the background. Wyllie was a well known marine painter and printmaker, studying at the Heatherley School of Fine Art and then at the at the Royal Academy. At the age of 18, Wyllie won the Turner Gold Medal for his painting "Dawn After A Storm".


An Old Bridge

This two sided drawing by Stephen Parrish measures 6 5/8 x 10 3/8 inches. Done in black ink, c. 1890, with a Maxfield Parrish Jr. family stamp on the lower right and upper left in black ink. Another drawing of a homestead with split rail fence, possibly his own, in on the reverse.
