This 1862 oil on canvas by the British artist Alfred Vickers measures 11 3/4 x 15 3/4 inches, signed and dated l.l., housed in original frame, partial European label on back. Born in London, Vickers was a self-taught landscape painter, who exhibited at the British Institute and the Royal Academy.

Race at Latimer Reef

A beautiful, atmospheric lithograph by the American artist, Stow Wengenroth, measuring 8 x 15 1/4 inches, pencil signed and editioned. This scene off the coast of Noank, Connecticut, was created by Wengenroth in December of 1946, and is #163 in the Stuckey catalogue. Wengenroth was one of the preeminent lithographers of 20th century America, known for his atmospheric, incredibly detailed images of the New England landscape and coastline.
