This landscape measures 12 5/8 x 9 1/8 inches and is signed on the reverse in pencil as "E. A. King", housed in a period frame. We are attributing this painting to Elizabeth A.(Bessie) King who studied at the Chandler School of Art in Detroit and was a member of the Atlanta Artists Association.

The Necklace

This is a very fine original etching by American expatriate artist Walter MacEwen. Image size 6 x 4 inches, c. 1910, pencil signed. Born in Chicago, MacEwen traveled to Europe to study art, first in Munich with Frank Duveneck, then in Paris with Corman and Robert-Fleury. He stayed in Europe for many years with studios in both Paris and Holland, where he was also a founding member of the Egmond Artist Colony. Primarily a painter, MacEwen was known for his impressionistic portraits and genre scenes which were quite well received in both Europe and America.
