An atmospheric New England image, this wood engraving is 6 1/4 x 9 1/2 inches, published in 1936 in an edition of 80 impressions, cat: BPL-208, pencil signed and numbered below the image, titled in the lower margin. Nason was a primarily self-taught printmaker, known for his incredibly detailed wood engravings of the New England landscape. He became known as the "poet-engraver of New England" after creating a series of wood engravings illustrating the poems of Robert Burns.
