Watercolor with pastel, image size 9 x 11 inches, signed by the artist l.l. "Agnes Tait". Agnes Tait was born and raised in New York City, and at the age of 14 enrolled at the National Academy of Design. She went on to travel extensively throughout Europe, Mexico, Haiti and Jamaica. In the 1930s, Tait was a member of the WPA, creating murals for Belleview Hospital in NYC, as well as some small editions of lithographs. In 1941, Tait and her husband moved to Taos, New Mexico, where she became known for her southwest landscapes.
