Richmond Bridge, Surrey

This is a remarkably detailed, atmospheric original etching, considered to be one of the finest images of the Richmond Bridge in Surrey, England. The image size is 4 1/4 x 6 1/4 inches, published in an edition of 50 in 1931, pencil signed below the image, titled and numbered in pencil in the lower margin. Badmin was an etcher, illustrator and watercolorist studying at the Royal College of Art in London and one of the youngest ever associate members of the Royal Watercolor Society.

This is an original ink drawing on paper, image size 6 7/8 x 11 inches, 1933, signed and dated in the lower right corner. Hopper Emory was born in Baltimore, Maryland and had a successful career in banking before he turned exclusively to his artwork. He traveled to England where he studied at the Heatherly School of Art in London, then returned to Maryland where he became known for his delicately rendered architectural and maritime etchings.
