Vibrant oil seascape, c. 1880, by British artist, Sarah Louisa Kilpack. "A view of Mont Orgueil Castle on the coast of Jersey" Painting size measures 4 3/4 x 8 1/4 inches in a period frame that measures 10 x 13 inches, signed l.l., oil on paper on board, location written on backing. Born in London in 1839, at an early age Sarah Louisa Kilpack was recognized as a talented pianist and artist, but after a series of misfortunes she gave up the piano and concentrated exclusively on her painting.

Harvard Medical

This beautiful etching of the Administration Building at Harvard Medical School by Charleston artist Elizabeth O'Neill Verner measures 10 1/2 x 14 1/2 inches. Done c. 1925, pencil signed on the lower right margin. Known for her love of the Lowcountry surrounding Charleston, with its swamps, fields and wildlife and unique characters, she captures the spirit of the south. Verner initiated the founding of the Charleston Society of Etchers and is considered the matriarch of the Charleston Renaissance, which flourished during the 1920s and 1930s.

Grove of Trees

A fine pencil sketch of a grove of trees with a landscape in the background by Dexter Dawes, measuring 7 1/2 x 11 inches on a medium weight drawing paper. Dawes summered in Marlboro, NH surrounded by beautiful gardens with views of Mount Monadnock which became the inspiration for many of his lithographs, drawings and paintings. He belonged to a number of associations including the National Arts Club.
