Etching, image size 5 1/4 x 6 3/4 inches, 1933, Morse 264, plate signed l.r., pencil signed l.r. "John Sloan" and pencil titled with an alternate title in the artists' hand l.c. John Sloan was an important early 20th century artist, a member of "The Eight" and a founding member of the Ashcan School of realist painters. He is known for his urban genre scenes that capture the life and energy of his subjects and their surroundings.
