Watercolor and gouache of Perce Rock, Gaspe Peninsula, Quebec. Signed in the lower right. This painting was signed in the early 1930's, before his acceptance into the National Academy. Sight size 17 x 21 inches in a 25 x 29 inch frame. The artist manages to make an overcast day come to life with color and expressive lines.

Spirit of the Rain

This 1937 etching by the American artist, Peggy Bacon, measures 4 3/4 x 3 7/8 inches, pencil signed and titled, 1937, cat: CL-122, published by AAA, label included with artist provenance, edition of 250. Born into an artistic family, Peggy Bacon's talents were apparent at an early age. By the age of 20, she had her first solo show in New York. She then went on to study at the Art Students League under John Sloan, Kenneth Hayes Miller and George Bellows.

Grove of Trees

A fine pencil sketch of a grove of trees with a landscape in the background by Dexter Dawes, measuring 7 1/2 x 11 inches on a medium weight drawing paper. Dawes summered in Marlboro, NH surrounded by beautiful gardens with views of Mount Monadnock which became the inspiration for many of his lithographs, drawings and paintings. He belonged to a number of associations including the National Arts Club.
