The Lighthouse
1935 - ?, American

This original oil on canvas, c. 1950, by Robert Mokowitz measures 12 x 16 inches and is signed on the lower right and is framed. Moskowitz was heavily influenced by abstract expressionism and the work of Jasper Johns. Studying at the Pratt Institute of Art under Bradley Walker Tomlin and Adolph Gottlieb, he worked mainly in oils and pastels with architectural themes. His work has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art and the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington.

Snowy Landscape
1864-1919, American

This etching by Charles Mielatz measures 3 x 4 1/2 inches. Created in 1907, it is plate signed and dated and also pencil signed on the lower margin. Mielatz was born in Germany in 1864. After arriving in the US he attended the Chicago School of Design. Meilatz studied different artistic mediums but after an introduction to etching by J.J. Callahan he came to love the etching process and devoted his time exclusively to it. For fifteen years he was the chief Instructor in etching at the National Academy of Design in NY.

This mixed media drawing by Dexter Dawes measures 11 3/8 x 10 inches on medium weight paper. Dawes summered in southern NH with its' majestic views of Mt. Monadnock, where many of his inspirations for his drawings, paintings and lithographs came from.
