Grouse on a Pine Bough

This is a beautifully detailed original etching by American artist Aiden Lassell Ripley. The image size is 8 7/8 x 11 7/8 inches, published c. 1930, pencil signed and titled. Ripley was a very successful 20th century sporting artist. He studied at the Boston Museum School under Phillip Hale and Frank Benson then spent several years traveling throughout Europe. He became quite well known for his landscapes and sporting scenes, and also worked throughout his life in wildlife and endangered species preservation.
