This 1923 etching by the British artist Laura Knight measures 5 7/8 x 7 7/8 inches, pencil signed and titled. In this image Lydia Lopokua relaxes while the seamstress fixes her costume backstage at the Ballet Russes. Knight was the first woman elected to the Royal Academy since it's foundation in 1768 and her exhibition there in 1965 was also the first for a women.

A fine sketch by Dexter Dawes measuring 10 3/4 x 7 1/2 inches on medium weight drawing paper. A small unfinished sketch of trees is on the reverse. Dawes spent many summers in the Marlboro, NH area drawing and painting the incredible natural beauty that surrounded him.
