This is very fine original painting of a mountain landscape, most likely of the Swiss or Austrian Alps. It is painted in oil on masonite, 16 1/8 x 20 3/4 inches, c. 1940s, with an indistinct signature in the lower right corner, framed.

Engraving by Cornelius Tiebout (1770-1830) after Stuart, image size 20 1/8 x 13 inches, sheet size 25 x 18 inches. This engraving is after the "Landsdowne" portrait, named for the British nobleman who commissioned the original painting by Stuart. It was first published by Tiebout in 1801. This is a later re-strike issued by William Smith, Philadelphia, c. 1865.

This is an original ink drawing on paper, image size 6 7/8 x 11 inches, 1933, signed and dated in the lower right corner. Hopper Emory was born in Baltimore, Maryland and had a successful career in banking before he turned exclusively to his artwork. He traveled to England where he studied at the Heatherly School of Art in London, then returned to Maryland where he became known for his delicately rendered architectural and maritime etchings.
