A very well done mixed media drawing by W.B. Fergusson. The artist used pen and ink, pencil and gouache in this whimsical moment in time at a busy train station. Done on gray toned paper, it measures 13 3/4 x 9 1/2 inches. The artists' signature is seen on the lower right with a date of 1920.

A Sunny Day
1860-1943, American

A beautiful sun drenched scene by Walter MacEwen, etching, image size 10 x 5 7/8 inches, c. 1910, printed by Delatre, pencil signed. Born in Chicago, MacEwen traveled to Europe to study art, first in Munich with Frank Duveneck, then in Paris with Corman and Robert-Fleury. He stayed in Europe for many years with studios in both Paris and Holland, where he was also a founding member of the Egmond Artist Colony. Primarily a painter, MacEwen was known for his impressionistic portraits and genre scenes which were quite well received in both Europe and America.
