Landscape by the American artist, Charles Woodbury, measuring 9 1/4 x 13 1/4 inches, signed in the l.r. "Charles H. Woodbury Lynn '82", oil on board, 1882, unframed. Known for his oils, watercolors and etchings, Woodbury was predominately a self-taught artist who preferred "to work out his salvation with little help from others in his profession".

Plate measures 7 7/8 x 6 inches on 10 5/8 x 6 7/8 inch laid type paper. This print has a jarring, abstract composition of negative imagery and details that are hidden at first glance.
