Painting

The Road Home
1829-1913, Canadian/American

Oil on panel, 9 x 11 inches, 1874, signed and dated lower right, in a period gilt frame. This is a wonderful tonalist view of a horse drawn hay wagon bound for home in the bleak cold of winter. This painting is by well known Canadian painter Francois B. De Blois. His formal art education includes studies in Europe under Charles-François Daubigny, probably in Paris or Auvers sur Oise a suburb to the north of Paris; and under Vincenzo Marinelli in Naples, Italy.

Print

Stone Bridge in Harburg
1878-1968, American

Lithograph with green toned ink, image size 19 3/8 x 13 1/8 inches, c. 1915, pencil signed and titled. In this print, the artist used two litho stones to create the chiaroscuro effect that gives this image such contrast and strong three dimensional quality.

Drawing

An Old Bridge
