This is a great original painting by George Arthur Hays, with several cows resting in a verdant landscape. Oil on canvas, 8 x 10 inches, 1908, signed lower left, signed and dated on the back of the canvas, in an ornate period gilt frame. George Arthur Hays was born in Greenville, NH, but lived for most of his adult life in Providence, Rhode Island.
