Summer Morning
1872- c.1950, American

A sunlit scene of a summertime meadow by Dexter Dawes, this watercolor measures 14 1/2 x 19 3/4 inches; it was painted c. 1935 and is signed by the artist. Dawes was born in Englewood, NJ and went on to study at New York City's Art Student League. He summered in Marlboro, NH surrounded by beautiful gardens with views of Mount Monadnock which became the inspiration for many of his lithographs and paintings. He belonged to a number of associations including the National Arts Club.

Spinner Play
1904-1967, American

This dynamic football scene is a very rare original lithograph by American artist Benton Spruance, titled "Spinner Play". The image size is 13 7/8 x 19 1/4 inches, published in 1934 in a small edition of 50, pencil signed, numbered and inscribed, "For Dear Collet with best regards- Spruance". This print has an approximately 2 inch repaired tear in the lower center of the image just above the margin, but it really is barely perceptible. Benton Spruance studied in Paris after winning the coveted Cresson Scholarship in 1928 while attending college at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art.
