Etching, image size 8 7/8 x 11 3/4 inches, edition of 100, c. 1920s, pencil signed. Wickey began his artistic career as an etcher, publishing his first etching in 1919. He became known for his New York scenes, landscapes and genre scenes. In the late 1930s, the fumes from the acid used in the etching process began to damage Wickey's eyesight, so he gave up etching and concentrated on lithography and sculpture instead.
