Sailing off the Maine Coast
1928-, American

A fine image of sailboats along the Maine coastline, painted in watercolor on paper, sight size 12 3/4 x 16 1/2 inches, signed lower left, framed. Laurence Sisson was born in Maine and after serving in Japan in WWII, studied at the Yale Summer School. He became known for his seascapes of the New England coast as well as images of the American southwest.

Harvard Medical

This beautiful etching of the Administration Building at Harvard Medical School by Charlestown artist, Elizabeth O'Neill Verner measures 10 1/2 x 14 1/2 inches. Done circa 1925, it is pencil signed on the lower right margin. Known for her love of the Lowcountry surrounding Charlestown, with its images of swamps, fields and local wildlife and urban scenes with its unique characters, she captured the spirit of the south. Verner initiated the founding of the Charlestown Society of Etchers and is considered the matriarch of the Charleston Renaissance, which flourished during the 1920s and 1930s.

This mixed media drawing by Dexter Dawes measures 11 3/8 x 10 inches on medium weight paper. Dawes summered in southern NH with its' majestic views of Mt. Monadnock, where many of his inspirations for his drawings, paintings and lithographs came from.
