Chapel of the Snows
1896-1978, American

A beautiful sunlit scene from Harry Shokler measures 11 3/4 x 16 inches. This silkscreen with colors created in 1969, it is signed and dated on the l.l. Harry Shokler was born in Ohio and studied at the Cincinnatti Art Academy and the New York School of Fine and Applied Arts. Known as a Regionalist painter and printmaker, Shokler was one of the pioneers of the serigraph or silkscreen process of printmaking and in 1946 wrote one of the foremost books on the process, the "Artist's Manual for Silkscreen Printmaking".

Old Maple
1872- c.1950, American

A very nice pencil drawing of an old maple tree by the Marlboro artist, Dexter Dawes. It measures 10 1/4 x 7 7/8 inches on a sheet of medium weight drawing paper. "Ask ?" is written on the l.l. Dawes was born in Englewood, NJ and went on to study at New York City's Art Student League. He summered in Marlboro, NH surrounded by beautiful gardens with views of Mount Monadnock which became the inspiration for many of his lithographs and paintings. He belonged to a number of associations including the National Arts Club.
