Three Cats

Watercolor on paper, 10 1/4 x 13 3/4 inches, signed, framed. Eugene Lambert was a 19th century French painter known for his images of cats. He studied under Delacroix and Delarache and made his debut at the 1847 Salon. In 1874 he became a member of the Legion of Honor. His painting "Cats and Kittens" is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
