Portrait of a Young Girl

This is a sweet original 19th century American school portrait of a young girl. Oil on canvas, 21 x 17 inches, oval, unsigned, with a New York stamp on the back, c. 1860, in an ornate period gilt frame, most likely the original. Although this painting is unsigned, it is quite well painted, probably by a very competent artist.
