Mezzotint by John Young, after the drawing by John Hopkins, sight size 24 1/4 x 19 1/4 inches, published June 4th 1806 by Boydell and Company, London. An inscription below the image reads: "A tribute to the memory of the Late Vice Admiral Lord Viscount Nelson. Brittania lamenting the death of her brave defender. Fame crowning his bust with those laurels he so gloriously won. History recording the event. To the Right Honorable the Earl of Malmesburg this plate is with permission dedicated by his most obedient and devoted servant. John Hopkins."
Oil on canvas, 18 x 24 inches, c. 1890, signed "WP Phelps", in a period gilt frame. Phelps was known as the "Painter of Monadnock." He lived most of his life in Dublin, NH, with the exception of several years he spent studying art in Europe. He painted many scenes of the area landscape of farms, fields and forests, most of which set against the backdrop of the majestic Mount Monadnock.
