This is a very fine original painting by American artist Enoch Wood Perry Jr. Oil on board, 11 3/4 x 9 3/4 inches, 1894, signed and dated in the lower right corner, titled on the back, in a beautiful Eastlake period frame. Born in Boston, Perry grew up in New Orleans and as a young man studied art in Germany and in France with Thomas Couture. In 1854 Perry returned to the United States and traveled West where he painted for several years with Albert Bierstandt.

Pond With Willows

A spectacular original linocut by Birger Sandzen, this image measures 5 3/4 x 8 3/4, published in 1930, pencil signed and titled, framed. Sandzen was born in Sweden and studied with Anders Zorn and Richard Berg before moving to Paris to study with Edmund Aman-Jean. In 1894 he accepted a teaching position at Bethany College in Kansas, where lived and taught for the rest of his life. He was a noted painter and printmaker and an important member of the Prairie Print Makers, who selected his print "A Kansas Creek" as their first gift print.

A fine sketch by Dexter Dawes measuring 10 3/4 x 7 1/2 inches on medium weight drawing paper. A small unfinished sketch of trees is on the reverse. Dawes spent many summers in the Marlboro, NH area drawing and painting the incredible natural beauty that surrounded him.
