This is a gorgeous, richly detailed triptych wood engraving, image size 7 x 12 1/4 inches, published in an edition of 200, 1971, pencil signed. The delicate lines, strong contrast and energetic composition bring an extraordinary lifelike quality to the wild plants in this image, making them seem as if they are spilling forth from the page.

This landscape drawing by Dexter Dawes measures 18 1/2 x 24 1/2 inches and is signed in the lower right corner. Dawes was born in Englewood, NJ and went on to study at New York City's Art Student League. He summered in Marlboro, NH surrounded by beautiful gardens with views of Mount Monadnock which became the inspiration for many of his lithographs and drawings. He belonged to a number of associations including the National Arts Club.
