Oil on panel, 9 x 11 inches, 1874, signed and dated lower right, in a period gilt frame. This is a wonderful tonalist view of a horse drawn hay wagon bound for home in the bleak cold of winter. This painting is by well known Canadian painter Francois B. De Blois. His formal art education includes studies in Europe under Charles-François Daubigny, probably in Paris or Auvers sur Oise a suburb to the north of Paris; and under Vincenzo Marinelli in Naples, Italy.

This Victorian landscape by the British artist, Henry Charles Fox is signed and dated on the lower right, sight size is 14 3/4 x 21 1/2 inches, housed in a period, carved gold frame measuring 18 3/4 x 25 1/2 inches. Fox was known for his superb rural landscapes depicting farm animals and country folk going about their daily routines. He was first accepted at the Royal Academy at age 25 in 1880 and was elected a full member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1889.
