The artist has skillfully captured the variety of contours and textures found in nature and and makes good use of negative space in this lively print.

The Village Lane
1855-1929, British

This Victorian landscape by the British artist, Henry Charles Fox is signed and dated on the lower right, sight size is 14 3/4 x 21 1/2 inches, housed in a period, carved gold frame measuring 18 3/4 x 25 1/2 inches. Fox was known for his superb rural landscapes depicting farm animals and country folk going about their daily routines. He was first accepted at the Royal Academy at age 25 in 1880 and was elected a full member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1889.
