Painting

Harbor Nocturne

This is an atmospheric moonlit scene of a ship coming in to harbor, painted in oil on Academy Board and measuring 15 1/8 x 11 inches. It is obscurely signed "H. G. Lask..?" in the lower right corner; although we have not been able to determine the identity of the artist, this painting is certainly done by a skilled hand, very much in the style of James Gale Tyler. A very fine 19th century painting in an ornate period gilt frame.
