The Lookout: "All's Well"
1836-1910, American

A stunning original etching by American artist William Bicknell (1860-1947) after the painting by Winslow Homer. This is a very rare early pencil signed proof, before the remarque and lettering of the Hamburg-American Steamship Line. The plate size is 27 3/8 x 20 1/2 inches, published in 1906 by the John A. Lowell Bank Note Co., Boston, plate signed by Homer, pencil signed by Bicknell. This is a superb, richly inked impression on a heavy weight wove type paper with ample margins.
