This is a beautiful cast bronze portrait of a young girl by Italian/American artist Salvatore Cartaino Scarpitta. The bust is 14 inches tall and stands on a 6 inch base. signed by the artist on the lower corner, dated 1912, with a Benjamin Zoppo, New York foundry mark. Scarpitta was born in Italy and graduated from the Royal Italian Academy before emigrating to America.
