Samurai Triptych

This is a very fine original Japanese color woodblock print in triptych, overall image size 14 x 28 inches, c. 1890s, with the artist and publisher stamps in the lower left and upper right corner, as well as additional Japanese characters in the left margin below the window mat.


Japanese Fan

This early 19th Century hand painted fan measures 6 1/4 x 15 inches. The back is lined with paper with Japanese writing on it.

Mountain View
1872- c.1950, American

This landscape by Dexter Dawes measures 15 x 20 7/8 inches, is signed and dated, 1937. There are some indications that it was painted on a rainy day. Dawes was born in Englewood, NJ and went on to study at New York City's Art Student League. He summered in Marlboro, NH surrounded by beautiful gardens with views of Mount Monadnock which became the inspiration for many of his lithographs and paintings. He belonged to a number of associations including the National Arts Club.

A richly inked original etching of a sunny European city street, this image measures 11 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches, published in 1950 for the Chicago Society of Etchers, pencil signed and inscribed "To my friend J. R. Brownell".
