This is a very fine original color lithograph, pencil signed, dated, and inscribed 'epreuve d'artiste' (artist's proof). The image size is 12 x 21 1/4 inches, 1979, with a stamp from the "Ministerio de Cultura Y Educacion" of Spain on the back of the sheet. This is a very cool, abstract composition with vibrant colors by the French cubist artist.

Oil on academy board, image size 7 1/2 x 9 1/4 inches, attributed to Albert B. Insley, obscure signature in l.r., c. 1890. Period gilt frame. Lovely fall wooded scene with views of distant hills.

Day Sail

This image measures 6 7/8 x 9 7/8 inches and is pencil signed, c.1930. Philip Kappel was born in Hartford, Connecticut and educated at the Pratt Institute in New York. He was employed as an artist for several shipping companies and much of his work documents these ships and their sailors. At age 26, Kappel was the youngest person ever admitted to "Who's Who in America."
