Oil on canvas, 14 x 20 inches, signed lower left. Marie Osthaus Griffith was the older sister of Edmund Henry Osthaus, one of the most successful painters of hunting dogs in the United States in the 19th century.

C. 1936. Edition of 175. Catalog: Giardina 186. Pencil signed in the lower right "Kerr Eby imp", the 'imp' indicating that Eby printed this impression himself. Plate measures 10 1/4 x 14 7/8 inches on 12 3/4 x 18 inch laid type paper. This etching was based on Eby's World War I experiences in France. This print is a beautiful study in light and shadow.
