Pencil signed "Airy" in the lower left. Remarque of a swan in the lower right. Plate measures 7 3/4 x 5 1/4 on 10 7/8 x 7 3/4 inch wove type paper. The artist's flowing lines depict a dancing couple surrounded by shadowy, treacherous figures.

William Preston Phelps was a plein air painter. In 1876, he travelled to Europe and began studying at the Royal Academy of Art in Munich. He later moved to New York and then back to Europe with his friend William Meritt Chase.

Framed oil on canvas, 24 x 36 inches. Signed in the lower left. The subject is likely his family homestead in Chesham, New Hampshire.

A fine pencil drawing by Dexter Dawes done on a heavy weight paper. It measures 7 5/8 x 11 inches. Dawes was born in Englewood, NJ and went on to study at New York City's Art Student League. He summered in Marlboro, NH surrounded by beautiful gardens with views of Mount Monadnock which became the inspiration for many of his lithographs and paintings. He belonged to a number of associations including the National Arts Club.
