Having a particular affinity towards birds and mammals of all kinds, they often found their way into her images. The naturalist Sir Peter Scott said, "She was certainly the best bird etcher of this century." She was a member of the Society of Woman Artist and the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers.
