Artist's Self Portrait

1867 - 1954, American

Self portrait by American artist Laura Lee, oil on canvas, measuring 32 x 16 inches in a 35 x 18 1/2 inch silver frame. This painting came to us in a very small frame and was folded over to fit that frame. We had the work resized back to the original that the artist intended. The painting is signed and dated in the lower left, 1919. Laura Lee was a well known suffragette in Boston, a champion of the women's suffrage movement. She was known as the "Bloomer Girl" artist.
