Mountain Shadows
1897-1970, American

A beautiful mountain scene by Arthur Herrick measures 16 x 24 inches, oil on board. The artist's estate stamp in on the backing. Herrick lived in Westmoreland, NH and painted many of the surrounding landscapes. Arthur Herrick studied at The New School of Design in Boston and was an illustrator and designer before taking up painting. Many of his scenes are of Rockport, Gloucester and the North Shore of Boston as well as the snow covered mountains of New Hampshire.

Empire State Building Through the Trees
1872- c.1950, American

This Dexter Dawes lithograph of the New York skyline from across the Hudson measures 14 x 17 inches. Dawes was born in Englewood, NJ and went on to study at New York City's Art Student League. He summered in Marlboro, NH surrounded by beautiful gardens with views of Mount Monadnock which became the inspiration for many of his lithographs and paintings. He belonged to a number of associations including the National Arts Club.

This pencil/pastel drawing by Dexter Dawes measures 24 1/4 x 18 1/2 inches and is dated "July 30, 1927" on the lower right corner. Dawes was born in Englewood, NJ and went on to study at New York City's Art Student League.
