Watercolor on paper, sight size 11 x 14 3/8 inches, c. 1930s, signed lower left, framed. Carroll Bill was an artist and architect, studying at Harvard Architectural School. He was a member of many artist's associations, including the Boston Architectural Club, the Boston Society of Architects, the Boston Society of Watercolor Painters, the New York Society of Watercolor Painters, the New York Watercolor Club and the Springfield Art League. Marshes
English, 1887-1949

"Marshes" is an atmospheric landscape by Sydney MacKenzie Litten done in an edition of 80. It measures 7 7/8 x 14 3/4 inches and is pencil signed on the lower margin. While attending the Royal College of Art in London, Litten became a pupil of Frank Short, who is credited with the revival of the messotint and aquatint process in England. Litten became well known for his landscapes and their sense of space and his architectual views. Living in London he became the Senior Master at the St. Martins School of Art.

"Summer Meadow" by Dexter Dawes measures 12 x 9 inches. Dawes summered in Marlboro, NH surrounded by beautiful gardens with views of Mount Monadnock which became the inspiration for many of his lithographs, drawings and paintings. He belonged to a number of associations including the National Arts Club.
