Watercolor on paper, 3 3/8 x 4 5/8 inches, signed in ink lower left. Housed in a period frame, possibly original to the painting, but recently rematted with archival materials. An old label on the back gives the title and location and is also signed by the artist.

This simple and elegant etching by Gerald Brockhurst measures 7 1/8 x 4 1/8 inches, pencil signed in an edition of 111. W 57, 1926, frame size is 16 x 12 inches. Born in England and found to be artistically talented at an early age, Gerald Brockhurst attended the Royal Academy Schools. A scholarship enabled him to study in France and Italy where the work of the great masters, especially Botticelli and da Vinci, had a lasting influenced on him. He became well known for his classically styled portraits etched with a remarkable sense of detail and texture.
