Barns in Autumn
1897-1970, American

This is a great scene of a warm autumn day in New England by Arthur Herrick. Painted in oils on masonite, this painting measures 20 x 30 inches, c. 1950s, signed in the lower left corner, in the original frame. Herrick studied at The New School of Design in Boston and was an illustrator and designer before taking up painting. He lived in Westmoreland, NH and specialized in plein air landscapes of New Hampshire and Vermont, as well as scenes of the Rockport and Gloucester area of Massachusetts.

Frontier Lady

This wood engraving by Barry Moser is one of 25 prints from his "Gold Rush" series. Published in 1985 in an edition of 350, it measures 7 x 4 inches and is pencil signed by the artist on the lower margin. The "Gold Rush" series were images portraying gold mining activities from America, Africa and Australia. Moser, from Tennessee, became a graphic artist and printmaker, studying under Leonard Baskin and Jack Coughlin.
