This ethereal watercolor by Mariano Ortuzar measures 12 x 16 inches and is signed and dated on the l.r. Ortuzar, a Chilean born artist, spent years in religious institutions in the study of theology which greatly influenced his painting technique, perspectives and color. A great sense of the mystical and spiritual comes through in his work. Known for his beautiful landscapes of his native Chile, his paintings also include images of Europe, Asia and America. This original watercolor comes framed with the artists bio on the back. (M)

Around the Horn

This wood engraving by Barry Moser is one of 25 from his "Gold Rush" series. Published in 1985 in an edition of 350, it measures 4 x 7 inches and is pencil signed by the artist on the lower margin. This series portrayed gold mining activities from America, Africa and Australia. Moser, from Tennessee, became a graphic artist and printmaker studying under Leonard Baskin and Jack Coughlin.
