Bibi Lalouette
1834-1903, American

A rare original etching by American Impressionist artist James Abbott McNeill Whistler, this image is an early impression from the 2nd state, image size 9 x 6 inches, published in 1859, cat: Kennedy-51, plate signed and dated. This etching features a richly inked impression on a fine Japan paper and comes framed with archival materials is a fine hand carved frame. As a young man Whistler attended West Point Military Academy and later worked as a cartographer at the US Coast Survey, where he first learned etching technique.
