A beautiful watercolor by Hester Donne Kimber measuring 5 3/4 x 8 5/8 inches, signed l.r., framed, c. 1885. "Hetty" Kimber was born in England, where she lived until moving to Nova Scotia in 1881. She traveled to Cape Breton Island many times with a group of painters , studying the history of the island and painting its rugged landscape.

A Most Popular Gentleman

This is a very fine original etching by British artist Cecil Aldin. The image size is 9 7/8 x 7 7/8 inches, c. 1920, edition of 100, pencil signed and numbered. Aldin studied at the Royal College of Art in London and was a prolific illustrator and artist, and a founding member of the London Sketch Club. An avid huntsman, Aldin was known especially for his sporting and hunting scenes and his images of dogs, which he portrayed with a remarkable sense of character and spirit.
