Vibrant oil seascape, c. 1880, by British artist, Sarah Louisa Kilpack. "A view of Mont Orgueil Castle on the coast of Jersey" Painting size measures 4 3/4 x 8 1/4 inches in a period frame that measures 10 x 13 inches, signed l.l., oil on paper on board, location written on backing. Born in London in 1839, at an early age Sarah Louisa Kilpack was recognized as a talented pianist and artist, but after a series of misfortunes she gave up the piano and concentrated exclusively on her painting.

West Quoddy Light
1907-1994, American

"West Quoddy Light" by the American artist Stevan Dohanos measures 10 x 8 inches, pencil signed and titled. Dohanos was an Ohio born commercial artist, illustrator and fine artist who first studied at the Cleveland School of Art and went on to illustrate for McCall's, the Saturday Evening Post and Esquire. His paintings and prints have been displayed in the Cleveland Museum of Art, Whitney Museum of American Art and Dartmouth College.
