This framed landscape by C. Herbert Moore is signed and dated in the lower right corner. Sight size measures 13 1/2 x 21 1/2 inches but comes in a period frame with a total measurement of 16 1/2 x 28 inches. Created in 1887, this highly realistic landscape shows Moore's ability to capture the subjects realistic detail and his ability to suggest differentiations in textures. Moore help found the American Pre-Raphaelite movement and eventually became the first professor of art at Harvard and the first director of the Fogg Museum.
