Oil on canvas adhered to board, 11 x 15 inches, c. 1930, signed, framed. James King Bonnar was born in North Adams, Massachusetts and studied at the Massachusetts School of Art, becoming known for his New England landscapes and harbor scenes. He was one of the Rockport school of artists, along with Emile Gruppe, Aldro Hibbard and Anthony Thieme. He served as president of the Copley Society of Boston, was a member of the North Shore Arts Association and the Rockport Art Association, and in 1949 founded the Newton Art Association.

Lithograph, image size 10 1/4 x 15 1/4 inches, c. 1940, pencil signed and titled. There is a small repaired tear in the lower left corner, about 1/4 inch into the image, but it is barely visible. Tanzer was active in New York during the depression and was a member of the WPA.
